Eric Holmgren was born in the small town of Orange, Massachusetts in 1984. Music came at a young age when he picked up his first guitar at the age of 6, a Christmas gift from his parents. He has been playing and singing ever since, performing his first show at 14 years old, this was the start of something that would now feel like it was meant to be.
At 16, Eric started his first band, a rock and roll show that lasted 4 years. During that time, he worked a typical day job to pay the bills and keep his toys and band going. Country music never passed through his mind until he began working to find what best fit his style and vocal technique. Country music grew on him and he started writing to the style with his own twist.
He played locally and eventually got a hold of gigs around Massachusetts and surrounding states as he developed his craft and a solid following in his home area of New England.
In 2008, Eric took a leap of faith, moved to Nashville and begin making his rounds. He has played at the world famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge, the Nashville Palace, Douglas Corner, the Listening Room, and even Hooters, along with many other venues to date.
He continued to tour his home state periodically and released his first acoustic Country album, Broken Road, in December 2008 in Nashville. That is quite a history for someone so young, but Eric was just getting started.
In May 2009, he formed his first Nashville band, shot footage for music videos, and was signed to his first management deal, all within one month! The process of touring East of the Mississippi is well underway and expanding even further. He has recently come out with his first major studio album in May of 2010 Called "My Way Home" and is getting great reviews and label response.
Eric is a crowd-pleaser in any style show or venue. With his up beat entertaining ways he gets people singing along and can stop a conversation with his unique styles of playing and powerful voice. The applause he receives, as well as the sale of his albums following each show, is a testament to how his music connects with people on many levels.
